What is Craftivism?

Craftivism is a word first used by Betsy Greer and made popular by Sarah Corbett and the Craftivist Collective. These inspiring craftivists show us the power of gentle protest.

As part of our Treat me well campaign, we're calling for all NHS Hospital Trusts to make reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability: more time, better communication and clearer information.

We hope campaigners will use craft to encourage the Chair of your NHS Hospital Trusts to engage with NHS's Learning Disability Improvement Standards. These are powerful guidelines. If NHS Hospital Trust Chairs committed to making sure there were improvements every year using these Standards, this would make a huge impact on the experiences of people with a learning disability in hospital.

A personalised message from you could make all the difference...

Your session can take place in Activism week (14-18th October) or any time afterwards.
