• What is the learning disability register?

  The learning disability register is for everyone with a learning disability. It’s a list that is kept by local GP surgeries to make sure their patients with a learning disability get the right support and reasonable adjustments.

  People on the learning disability register are offered an annual health check from the age of 14 years onwards.

  It’s an important way for people with a learning disability to stay healthy and get the extra support they might need when going to the doctors.

• How do I join the learning disability register?

  Use the letter builder on our website to quickly make a letter for your GP. Then hand it in to your GP surgery to get them to put you on the learning disability register.
